For instance, when tasked with redesigning the app's logbook screen to support increasing the font size, we recognized that this would be a difficult design problem, because it would change from a screen that only scrolled vertically to one that now scrolled both vertically and horizontally. Claire delivered a design that included affordances and signifiers, such as a card metaphor with rounded corners, to help users intuitively understand that the screen now also scrolls horizontally. She also designed it in such a a way that it would look elegant and clear no matter where you were in the scroll position by keeping the date column fixed on the left side.
